the Imboden Family

I have tried to compile some information about my family. Most is taken from the book: "St. Niklaus Familienstatistik und Chronik" collected and compiled till 1860 by Rev. Peter Josef Ruppen, completed up to1972 by Viktor Summermatter. © 1975 by the community of St. Niklaus (VS).

There are two lines of Imboden. One, by the name of Rieber, is originating from Grächen and has its name derived from Kleeboden in Eisten, where they had their first family seat.

The other is said to originate from Massa-Boden, next to Naters. These Imbodens first lived in St. Niklaus im Boden, called Zerschwidern. My patriachal line leads back to the first one.
